Bienvenue à notre nouveau blog

Dear Parents,

Our annual French Public Speaking Contest (le concours d’art oratoire) for junior students is fast approaching. Over the next few weeks, your child will be researching and writing a speech to be presented in class at the beginning of February (Feb. 2, 3, 4). Based on class presentations, three to four students per class will be selected to compete at our school-wide event, and further to this, winning students will move on to Board competitions. The Board-wide winner will participate in a province-wide competition taking place later this spring.

In order to proceed in a timely and organized manner, students are being provided with the attached timeline that should be kept at home in a visible spot. For your information, I have also included a list of contest rules. It is my hope that the students enjoy the research and creative expression associated with this project and that they all learn a lot from their own and others’ presentations.

A part of this project will be completed at home, so I am asking that parents complete and return the response form below, once a subject has been decided on. I highly encouraged the students to pick a topic that they are familiar with.

Thank you for your support,

Suzanne Morneau

on behalf of the Junior Team
